Jon graduated from the University of Manchester with a Masters in Town and Country Planning (MTCP) in 2003 and began his career at the former Macclesfield Borough Council (now Cheshire East Council). He joined HOW Planning in 2005 where he became a Partner in 2013 and an Equity Partner in 2017. Following the sale of HOW Planning in 2018, he became a Senior Director at Avison Young until 2021.

Jon is commercially minded, energetic, proactive, and innovative planning advisor. His career spans 18 years and during this time has had advised clients on a wide range of significant and complex projects across the North of England. 

 

Jon has been a Chartered Town Planner since 2005 and in September 2019, he was elected to Fellowship of the Royal Town Planning Institute (FRTPI) as a result of his leadership skills, and the high standard and innovative nature of his work associated with the Northern Gateway development in Manchester, which is a transformational regeneration project proposing 15,000 new homes on approximately 130 hectares of land to the North of Victoria Station.  Outside of work, Jon is married to Tan and has two young children. Jon is very active, and his interests are rugby, golf, cricket, and endurance sports. He is an advocate of the Hughes Syndrome Foundation.
