Chesterfield Waterside is a large scale £300m regeneration project promoted by Chesterfield Waterside, a joint venture between Urbo and Chesterfield Borough Council on 16 hectares (40 acres) of former industrial land adjacent to the A61 in the River Rother corridor. The regeneration scheme comprises 1,500 new homes, 8,000 sq m of retail and leisure uses, 30,350 sq m of retail and leisure uses, 2no. hotels and a new canal link.
Asteer Planning is instructed to provide general strategic planning advice and negotiation of planning permissions for the current live developments within the Basin Square Character Area:
- Reserved matters application for 2no part 8 part 12 storey Build to Rent buildings comprising 310 apartments and 1no 8 storey hotel providing 84 bedrooms; and
- Reserved matters application for a 7 storey Multi-Storey Car Park comprising 397 car parking 10 motorcycle spaces.
The planning application was submitted in March 2021 and is pending determination.
