Asteer Planning is instructed by Hall & Co to prepare and manage a full planning application to secure permission for residential development at a previously developed site in Rochdale. The proposed development seeks to deliver a total of 32 dwellings including 26 houses and 6 apartments with provision for affordable housing.
The site forms previously developed land at the Former Tack Lea Works in Rochdale and is located in the Green Belt. The site also benefits from an extant permission for 14 dwellings.
Asteer Planning led effective pre-application discussions with Rochdale Council and key stakeholders to submit an improved scheme to support the borough’s aim to widen housing choice and deliver housing that better suits the needs of existing and future residents. The scheme has been carefully designed to respond to the site’s complexities and sensitively integrates the proposed development within a similar footprint and scale of the site’s former use. The high quality design will positively respond to the character and appearance of the area through the delivery of the new residential development.
The application was validated by the Council in October 2022 and Asteer are working closely with the Case Officer and consultees to achieve a successful approval.
