Asteer Planning is appointed by Taylor Wimpey to prepare a Comprehensive Masterplan for, and secure planning permission for the first phase of residential development at the North Lancaster Strategic Site, at Slyne Road, Lancaster.
The site is allocated in the Lancaster Local Plan for around 700 dwellings, a primary school, 2 hectares of employment land, local centre uses and a wide range of public open space. The hybrid planning application submitted by Taylor Wimpey for the first phase of development seeks full planning permission for 58 family homes, and outline planning permission for a 60 bed extra care facility along with local centre uses and community gardens/allotments.
The preparation of the Comprehensive Masterplan has seen Asteer Planning manage a multidisciplinary team of technical consultants and carry out public consultation on behalf of Taylor Wimpey, as well as developing a strong working relationship with officers at Lancaster City Council. Following Asteer Planning’s presentation to Lancaster City Council’s Local Plan Review Group in July 2023, the Comprehensive Masterplan was successfully acknowledged by the LPRG and has been updated to the Council’s website.
The hybrid planning application is currently being considered by Lancaster City Council and is expected to be considered by the Planning Committee in October 2023.
