Victoria North, Manchester

Jon Suckley has provided strategic planning advice to Far East Consortium and Manchester City Council since 2016 in relation to Victoria North which is one of the UK’s largest regeneration  projects extending to 155 hectares of land between Victoria Station and Queens Park to the north of Manchester City Centre. The regeneration scheme will deliver 15,000 new homes over the next 10-15 years, supported by new social, community and physical infrastructure including an extensive City River Park. Since 2016, Jon Suckley has provided strategic planning advice and led planning teams to secure full planning permissions for 756 new residential units at Meadowside, 634 new residential units at Victoria Riverside, 80 residential units at New Cross Central and 244 and 30 new homes in the Collyhurst Village and South Collyhurst neighborhood’s respectively.

Asteer Planning is currently instructed to provide strategic planning advice to FEC and MCC on its first phase of residential led development at the Red Bank neighbourhood which will deliver  enabling infrastructure funded by £51.6m from the Housing Infrastructure Fund, the first phase of the new park at St Catherine’s Wood and circa 4,200 new homes and supporting social and community infrastructure. In May 2023 a planning application was submitted seeking full permission for 1550 houses off Dantzic Street as well as outline permission for a further 3250 at Red Bank.
