Planning permission has been granted for the redevelopment of the former Brackley Golf Course in Little Hulton, Salford.  The 63 acre site will accommodate a new residential development secured by Asteer Planning on behalf of joint developers Bellway and Countryside Properties.

The Brackley Golf Course site, which has been unused since the club closed in 2016, straddles the border between Salford and Bolton, with Salford City Council giving the green light to begin the redevelopment works.

Comprising 690 new homes the scheme will focus on providing high quality family accommodation with each developer providing half.  In addition to providing a good mix of housing, the scheme also aims to enhance accessibility both in and around the site and with surrounding neighbourhoods and maintain on-site open space to reflect its previous use.

Says Alice Henderson, Senior Planner at Asteer:  “This is a significant approval, which will provide much needed new family homes.  We have been working very closely with both of our clients to ensure their plans for the area will create a thriving new community and enhance the existing surroundings.”
